DCC Treasure - Armature of Palantis

One of the player characters in my group has received a quest from his god Marklyn to seek out the Armature of Palantis -- which I have taken from Greg Gillespie's Barrowmaze (an excellent mega-dungeon that I have placed in my DCC campaign world).

But who was Palantis?  And what do the BECMI rules for these magic items look like?

In my world, Palantis was a legendary knight in service to the Lord of Law, Marklyn the Arbiter.  He served the King of Aquerria and wandered the landrighting wrongs and fighting the forces of Chaos.  He tragically fell in unrequited love with the Baroness Megwynn den Alandair, who secretly was a cultist of Chaos, dedicated to her patron Tarnhem the Feardrinker.  She manipulated him, turning his good heart to questionable deeds.  When the great battle of Law versus Chaos came, Palantis unwittingly served Tarnhem and slew the Viscount Thevelin den Alandair of Moorwash, preventing his armies from joining the main Aquerrian force and causing the King to fall at the Battle of Silver Bridge.

The enchanted armor of Palantis passed hands through the years, and ultimately was interred in the Blackcandle Downs.  Separately, these pieces of armor are precious magic items, but combined form a powerful artifact in service to the forces of Law.

Below are the individual and combined items -- I'm really pleased that these magic items are simpler under the DCC ruleset.

Gauntlet of Palantis
The gauntlet is an elbow-length iron plated glove.  If worn by a Lawful character, it allows the wearer to attempt to cast detect magic (clerics use 1d20, other classes use 1d10, plus their Personality modifier plus another +4, and a natural roll of 1 the wearer suffers Disfavour).  Furthermore, it grants Lawful Clerics an additional +2 to all idol magic, lay on hand, or turn undead checks.

Couter of Palantis
The couter is a platemail elbow articulation designed for the Gauntlet of Palantis.  Worn on it’s own, the couter provides the bearer with limited magic resistance (any spell targeting the wearer suffers a -1 to the spell check).
However, if worn in conjunction with the Gauntlet, its full potential is realized, it allows the wearer to attempt to cast detect magic (clerics use 1d20, other classes use 1d10, plus their Personality modifier plus another +6, and a natural roll of 1 the wearer suffers Disfavour).  Furthermore, it grants Lawful Clerics an additional +3 to all idol magic, lay on hand, or turn undead checks.  As well, the magic resistance is increased to -2 to spell checks.

Rerebrace of Palantis
The rerebrace is an upper arm plate designed to attach to the Couter and Gauntlet of Palantis.  The Rerebrace includes a pauldron for protection of the neck.  The rerebrace provices +1 to AC and limited magic resistance (any spell targeting the wearer suffers a -1 to the spell check).
All abilities stack with the Couter  If the Gauntlet, Couter, and Rerebrace are combined, they are a new magic item – the Armature of Palantis.

Armature of Palantis
The Armature of Palantis is a magic item created when the Gauntlet, Couter, and Rerebrace of Palantis are combined.
The Armature serves as a +2 magic weapon that deals 1d4 damage.  It provides +2 to AC.  The wielder can cast Detect Magic and Neutralize Poison or Disease (clerics use 1d20, other classes use 1d10, plus their Personality modifier plus another +8, and a natural roll of 1 the wearer suffers Disfavour).  Further it grants Lawful Clerics an additional +4 to all idol magic, lay on hands, and turn unholy checks.  As well, it provides the bearer with magic resistance (any spell targeting the wearer suffers a -3 to the spell check).
The Armature of Palantis may be used to destroy the Ebony Rod of Nimuul.
