Okay, not every monster can be a cyclopean horror from beyond
– sometimes a Judge just needs a critter to make the wilderness, er … wild.
Here’s a vulture that is a little outside the norm, a giant
bird that can smell blood at a distance, so those wounded adventurers headed
back to town … well, you get the idea.
And it makes a great option for PC wizards and elves casting Animal
Summoning too …
Stories to tell of your intrepid band of heroes getting
picked at by these critters? Drop me a note,

Thanks!
Dunstrand Vultures
The Dunstrand Vulture is native to that
mountain range and surrounding area, able to travel up to 200 miles in a day,
and possesses an uncanny sense of smell, able to detect carrion or blood at a
distance of up to two miles away. These
vultures are exceptionally large, with a wingspan of up to 15 feet wide. Unlike their smaller cousins, Dunstrand
Vultures are able to do more than scavenge carrion, and aggressively hunt small
prey or wounded creatures by diving and raking their targeted prey with sharp
talons.
